Tom Finn started his 2,600 km solo charity hike on June 11th on the Peace Bridge, and will finish up in Kinsale in Cork.

Tom said, “My decision to support the work of Pieta House and the Irish Guide Dogs is a personal one. I hope that people are inspired, like me, by their brilliant and vital work. I would ask people to support this charity event by giving a little, I promise you it can and will help a lot. The continued success of these two charities is down to the wonderful support given by people like you.”

He went on to say, “I shall carry all my supplies, including my tent, in my backpack, stopping to rest for the night wherever I find a suitable spot, garden or field. My plan is to hike 40 km a day. I would encourage and welcome people to say hello if they see me passing.”
